Shocker: Bulgaria Drops from UK Tourists' Cheapest Summer Spots List
In an unexpected turn, Bulgaria and Turkey have been notably absent from the list of the ten cheapest European summer destinations for British tourists
The President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr. Rumen Radev, had an official visit to the Republic of Slovenia on 11 and 12 March. During the visit he was accompanied by Deputy Executive Director of Bulgarian Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Promotion Agency (BSMEPA), Mrs. Yana Topalova and a business delegation. Within the framework of the visit a business forum was held with the participation of 34 Bulgarian companies from the sectors of information and communication technologies, energy, machine building, construction and architecture, cosmetics and medical products, clothing and footwear industry, food industry, agriculture and agriculture , tourism and hotels, real estate, engineering, innovation and process management, etc.
During the visit, the business delegation visited ABC accelerator, where Mr. Julij Božič, co-founder and mentor introduced the participants to the opportunities that the area provides for co-business cooperation and projects with international participation. On 11 March 2019, a business forum was held with bilateral meetings between Bulgarian and Slovenian companies and organizations aimed at developing bilateral trade and economic relations. Ms. Sonia Shmutz, General Director of Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Ms. Yana Topalova, Deputy Executive Director of BSMEPA opened the forum. Formal greetings to the participants in the business forum were made by the Presidents of the Republic of Bulgaria, HE. Mr Rumen Radev and of the Republic of Slovenia, HE. Mr. Borut Pahor. The participants were acquainted with the presentations of the Bulgarian Investment Agency and the State Agency Spirit Slovenia, which presented the measures for support and promotion of SMEs and the investment environment in Slovenia.
During the event, Mrs. Yana Topalova, Deputy Executive Director of BSMEPA, held a meeting with Mrs. Sonia Schmutz, General Director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, which discussed the possibility of establishing a long-term partnership between the two institutions in order to promote Bulgarian and Slovenian business relations.
As a result of the bilateral meetings held in the framework of the forum, Bulgarian participants were able to identify potential business opportunities in the country as well as to exchange contacts with future partners. 120 Bulgarian and Slovenian companies took part in the event.
