Christmas shopping is infamously manic, but Tesco and the rest of the nation’s retail giants are on hand to help you out for those last minute panic-buys or food top-ups.
Whether it’s grabbing a late stocking filler for a family member you’ve forgotten about or suddenly remembering Christmas Day morning you’ve run out of gravy for the turkey, a trip to the supermarket could spare your blushes.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic this year some stores like Asda are already shutting Boxing Day to give their staff a much-needed break but what are Tesco’s plans for the festive period?
We’ve got everything you need to know…
What are the Tesco opening times for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day?
Christmas Eve
Tesco kept hundreds of its stores open for 24 hours a day in the build-up to Christmas Day.
Between December 14 and Christmas Eve, 300 branches stayed open for 24 hours while the others opened from 5am until 11pm.
On Christmas Eve, hours vary across stores, with most Metro and Express stores open until 10pm, while most superstores close earlier – at 7 or 8pm, depending on where you are based.
As always, opening hours vary across branches, so check the Tesco website before heading out.
Christmas Day
Tesco stores will be closed on Christmas Day like most of the retail giants.
Boxing Day
Tesco’s largest supermarkets usually open from 9am-6pm on Boxing Day while the Tesco Extra stores are likely to open from 8am-10pm.
To check when your local store is open over the festive period you can use Tesco’s handy store locator on their website.
