Ukrainian-Saudi working group for development of trade, investment in agriculture of Ukraine begins work

The first meeting of the Ukrainian-Saudi working group on the development of trade and investment relations in the agricultural sector was held, at which the Saudi side was headed by a representative of state-owned Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Company (SALIC), which owns the Continental Farmers Group agricultural holding in Ukraine, William England, the Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture said on Thursday.

According to the ministry, the export of Ukrainian agricultural products to Saudi Arabia in January-November 2020 grew by 11% compared to the same period in 2019 and amounted to $410.9 million. The main export items were cereals, meat and edible offal, fats and oils, milk, dairy products, poultry eggs, and natural honey.

According to the ministry, the goal of the working group is to expand trade in agricultural products with Saudi Arabia, to attract its investments in Ukraine's agriculture, as well as to use the logistics facilities of Saudi Arabia to promote Ukrainian products to the markets of other states of the Persian Gulf and MENA countries.
