Small Business Saturday: "Although our nearly one-million square foot space makes us seem anything but small, West Acres is a locally-owned and operated small business," West Acres Chief Operating Officer Alissa Adams said in a statement to The Forum. "In honor of Small Business Saturday we are putting the spotlight on over 30 of our stores and kiosks that are also small businesses. Come shop local and enjoy the kick-off of our Holipalooza from 1 to 5 p.m. in Buffalo Court."
The day will feature music from Nattie Jean from 1 to 3 p.m. and Kwaician from 3 to 5 p.m. Featured vendors will include Dakota Vines Winery, Fargo Brewing Company, Juice Box, Prairie Rose Meadery and Better World Bakery.
Holipalooza festivities will continue Saturdays through Dec. 17.
Downtown Fargo
Many downtown businesses will observe Plaid Friday, a take on Black Friday where merchants offer discounts and other promotional offers to people wearing plaid. The tradition got its start in 2009 in Oakland, Calif., and was conceived of the idea of weaving the individual threads of local businesses together to create a strong fabric that displays the diversity and creativity of independent business.
Here's a taste of what you can expect:
Unglued: While owner Ashley Morken expected Unglued would be doing business at Drekker's Brewhalla by now, she's grateful she can continue to welcome shoppers to her original store at 408 Broadway over the holidays. "This is our busiest weekend of the year," Morken said.
