A hugely popular Glasgow restaurant has been named as a finalist in a top restaurant awards by one of the UK's favourite delivery firms.

Japanese cuisine specialists Nippon Kitchen on West George Street now require their fans to help vote for them as they go head to head with three other restaurants from across Scotland.

Now in its seventh year, the Just Eat Restaurant Awards, formerly known as the British Takeaway Awards, seeks to recognise those restaurants that are considered the UK's favourites.

And voting has now opened for the ‘Takeaway in Scotland’ award, with Glasgow's own Nippon Kitchen, which was lauded for serving delicious Japanese dishes fresh to order and making a huge effort to tackle food waste, is going up against the likes of Chicken Union in Stirling, Kilmarnock-based Neapolitan Pizzeria, A Slice, and Aberdeen's tapas style Indian restaurant Namaste Delhi.

One of Glasgow’s favourite places for sushi, the city centre spot is known for its excellent modern Japanese cuisine offering and beautiful cocktails.

And with voting now opening, the Glasgow public are being asked to help pick their favourite by heading along to the Just Eat website here.

UK & IE Marketing Director, Victoria Gold, said: “This year, we’re excited to be inviting more restaurants to get involved in our highly coveted Just Eat Restaurant Awards, so that food lovers across the country can support their favourites.

"While the name has changed and we’ve refreshed our look to a joyful orange, our mission remains the same. We’re still here to recognise the hardworking individuals behind Britain’s best food spots and champion passion, dedication and above all, unforgettable food.”

All national and regional winners will be revealed at a star-studded ceremony taking place at the 5-star The Londoner Hotel in Leicester Square on February 21st 2023.
