McNeese Men’s Basketball Adds Syracuse Transfer Quadir Copeland

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Will Wade promised he would hit the recruiting trail hard to get McNeese back to the NCAA Tournament in 2025, and hopefully get McNeese their first NCAA Tournament win in program history and hitting the recruiting trail hard may have been an understatement.

It was announced Wednesday afternoon that former Syracuse guard Quadir Copeland is taking his talents to Lake Charles, to play for Will Wade and the Cowboys. With the Orange in 2023-24, Copeland averaged 9.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.5 steals per game in 32 games played, and an average of 22.3 minutes per game.

Copeland is McNeese’s third power conference transfer of the offseason, and fifth transfer as a whole so far this offseason, joining Bryant Selebangue from Arizona State, and Brandon Murray from Ole Miss as the power conference transfers, along with Joe Charles from Louisiana-Lafayette, and Sincere Parker from Saint Louis as the other transfers.
