Chomps, Naples, Florida, is voluntarily recalling 29,541 pounds of Original Beef Sticks and Original Turkey Sticks due to the potential presence of metal fragment. The meat sticks were manufactured by Idaho Smokehouse Partners in Shelley, Idaho.

The recall was announced by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

View the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) announcement here and the USDA-provided labels here. Impacted products and lots are also summarized by Chomps here.

The following product is subject to recall:

  • Pouch containing 12, 1.15-ounce, vacuum-sealed packages of Chomps Original Beef Stick Mild. The product subject to recall bears establishment number 6220A ink-jetted on the package.
  • Pouch containing eight 1.15-ounce, vacuum-sealed packages of Chomps Original Beef Stick Mild. They have an expiration date of Feb. 10, 2026, and lot code 25017, 25020 or 25021 printed on the label. The product subject to recall bears establishment number 6220A ink-jetted on the package.
  • 1.15-ounce vacuum-sealed packages of single Chomps Original Turkey Stick, with an expiration date of Feb. 17, 2026, and lot code 25022 or 25023 printed on the label. The product subject to recall bears establishment number P6220A ink-jetted on the package.

Lot codes can be identified at the bottom of sticks below the barcode. If a consumer has a pouch, the company is instructing them to remove a stick from the pouch to check, Chomps said. It also told consumers who have affected products not to consume their products, and that they should instead return those products to the retailer where they purchased the product for a refund. It also told anyone concerned about an injury or illness to contact a healthcare provider.

The packages were shipped to distribution centers in California, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota and Washington for further distribution to retail locations nationwide.

The issue was discovered after Chomps investigated two consumer complaints reporting the potential presence of metal fragment in the meat stick product. There have been no reported adverse reaction or injuries. This internal recall was initiated as a precautionary measure out of an abundance of caution.
