Walmart is coming to the rescue of Costco shoppers who are still mourning the loss of a hugely popular food court item.
In 2020, the retail giant removed the Pizza Combo from their beloved food court, leaving loyal customers shocked and confused. While the pepperoni and cheese slices are still available, the combo pizza which features sausage, mushrooms, onions, and green peppers, never came back. After listening to the outrage from fans, Costco brought out the pizza as a refrigerated pie that customers can take home and bake themselves.
But it didn’t quite satisfy the craving for them - in fact many even signed a petition calling on Costco to bring it back and threatening to cancel their memberships if not.
Luckily for those shoppers, Walmart has heard their call. Taking a cue from Costco, America’s largest retailer is rolling out in-store hot pizza slices. In some locations across the country, Walmart is already offering customers the chance to grab a fresh slice on their shopping trip.
The retail giant has partnered up with Nozzleman Pizza - a Reno-based franchise - at its Carson City, Nevada location. The pizza counter is serving pizza by the slice, fries, chicken tenders, grilled cheese, chocolate chip cookies, and even full 16-inch pies.

Walmart has had a number of in-store restaurants over the years, ranging from Mr Gatti's Pizza, to Crave Hot Dogs and BBQ.
Walmart has proven in recent years that providing more dining options is a top priority. The chain is dedicated to offering the utmost convenience for customers, also focusing a lot of attention on their Walmart+ app.
Nozzleman Pizza is expected to open at more Walmart locations within Nevada by summer, and plans to expand to other states, including Utah, Colorado, Arizona, Wyoming, and Idaho later this year.
Walmart’s end goal is reportedly to feature Nozzleman Pizza inside Walmart stores nationwide.
